Are you looking to buy Nevermore XL 3D Printer Carbon - Acid Free Carbon Pellets for Activated Carbon Filters 1000g (2300ml) in Australia?

Nevermore Carbon – Premium activated carbon specifically chosen for the Nevermore range of activated carbon filters, now in XL size!

This carbon has been sourced from the creators of the Nevermore Project primarily used in Voron Printers as a fume filter to remove ABS fumes, and other 3D Printing particulates (VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds))

It is a premium activated 4mm carbon pellet specifically chosen for the Nevermore range of activated carbon filters.

These carbon pellets can be used for a variety of other uses as well.

1000g of carbon is included in each bag however 2300 ml is a more suitable measurement. Carbon density differs widely and if you are comparing it to other carbon with weight, this carbon will seem a lot more expensive when in reality, you get what you pay for!

Specifications
  • CTC: 80 (adsorption efficiency)
  • Surface area: 1250 (filtration duration)
  • Benzene adsorption: up to 48wt% (known ABS VOC adsorption efficiency)
  • Density: 420 g/L (lighter is better)
  • Hardness: >98 (harder is better, less dust generation)
  • Porosity: Microporous (optimal printer VOC adhesion)

How much carbon do Nevermore Filters require?

Nevermore Micro v4 = 36 refills
Nevermore Micro v5 = 21 refills
Nevermore Micro v5 XL = 18 refills
Nevermore Max is currently unknown, please let us know!

How often should I replace carbon in my nevermore Filter?

Activated carbon depletes in room air in 1-2 months because there’s a ton of VOCs in room air. The printer VOCs we are trying to catch is like 1/1000. So if there were just printer VOCs to catch, even fish carbon would last many months. But the thing is, depending on the printer seal, it’s mostly room air that depletes the filter. If outside air doesn’t get into the printer a single cartridge would easily last 3 months. If running in an enclosure circulating a lot of room air through it, you can start smelling ABS as early as 20hrs in a V4 if placed under a heated bed (the hotter the intake, the poorer the VOC adhesion). In a V0 with decent sealing, I would think a cartridge of good carbon quality would work well for several weeks even if printing 24/7.

V5 says 50hrs print time on the lid. It’s a guesstimate based on average no-name carbon under a hotbed in a pretty leaky printer. So should always be at least that.
Is this the coconut butter type?
Nope - It’s a premium anthracite with similar porosity (as compared to coconut), but with a bit wider pore range (both smaller and bigger - should work somewhat better catching larger molecules such as BPA in ASA)
