Are you looking to buy Polymaker Fiberon PPS-GF20 1.75mm Filament 3kg in Australia?

Fiberon™ PPS-GF20 is a glass fibre reinforced PPS (Polyphenylene sulphide) filament, with minimal warping during printing and no need for a heated chamber. Designed for engineers who demand the best in thermal resistance, dimensional stability, and dielectric insulation. This glass fibre–reinforced PPS filament is the go-to choice for high-performance applications across electronics, aerospace, and industrial environments.

Features

  • Electrical Insulation - Fiberon PPS-GF20 offers 6.05 kV/mm dielectric strength and a low dielectric constant (2.71 @ 1MHz), making it perfect for electrical housings, ADAS sensor enclosures, and structural components in 5G base stations.
  • Extreme Heat Resistance - Featuring a heat deflection temperature of up to 236.3°C after annealing[1], Fiberon PPS-GF20 delivers extreme heat resistance for a wide range of demanding environments.
  • UL94-V0 Flame Retardance - Ideal for automotive, railway and aerospace applications, Fiberon PPS-GF20 displays V0 performance in the UL94 flame retardancy test, benefiting applications where respective material approval is required. Fiberon PPS-GF20 can reduce the intensity of a fire or slow/stop the spread of fire due to its self-extinguishing characteristics.
  • Chemical Resistance - Fiberon PPS-GF20 is developed to withstand the harshest environments, delivering outstanding chemical resistance.
  • Excellent stiffness & moisture insensitivity - Compounded with 10% chopped carbon fibre, Fiberon PPS-GF20 offers excellent mechanical strength and stiffness for a wide range of jig, fixture, automotive and manufacturing applications. Fiberon PPS-GF is a "moisture insensitive" composite filament[2] , ensuring excellent mechanical properties regardless of moisture absorption. This is in comparison to parts produced in nylon-based carbon fibre that absorb moisture from the air, a process which reduces tensile strength and stiffness of carbon fibre nylon parts. With Fiberon PPS-GF20 users can print end-use parts for a wide range of industries without concerns of mechanical performance if the component is exposed to humid or wet applications.
  • High Speed Capable - Fiberon™ PPS-GF20 is high speed capable industrial material, enabling printing up to 250mm/s on suitable high speed printers.
  • Printer Compatibility & Excellent Surface Finish - Unlike other ultra performance polymers that require actively heated and high temperature chamber environments, Fiberon PPS-GF has been developed to print on a wide-range of 3D printers that can reach a 310 - 350°C nozzle temperature.

[1] Fiberon™ PPS-GF20 displays the best mechanical and thermal properties when fully crystallised. The printed part will not reach full crystallisation during the printing process, an additional step is required: Annealing. PPS-GF20 can be annealed in the oven at 130°C for 10 hours.
[2] Moisture insensitivity does not describe whether the filament should be kept dry for optimal print quality. This description of moisture insensitivity is in the context of the end-use application where extremely moisture sensitive materials like PA6-CF see a significant reduction in mechanical properties as the part absorbs moisture. With PPS-GF moisture absorption is minimal and doesn't impact the mechanical properties of the part. For best printing results PPS-GF should still be kept dry during printing and storage.

Technical Data

All PPS-GF specimens were printed with 350°C nozzle temperature, 90°C bed temperature, cooling fan OFF and samples were annealed after printing at 130°C for 10h. Samples were printed with 100% infil, 2 shells and 3 top & bottom layers.

PPS is a semi-crystalline material, it's crystalline regions offer many properties, but in particular their structure deliver the heat resistance that PPS is known for. Annealing after printing is a critical process to achieve consistent crystallinity and complete the production process of PPS parts.
