What is the C rating?
The C rating of a lithium polymer (LiPo) battery refers to its discharge rate, or how quickly it can release its stored energy. This is important for quadcopter enthusiasts as the C rating determines the amount of power that the battery can provide to the motors.
A higher C rating means that the battery can discharge its energy more quickly, providing more power to the motors. For example, if a quadcopter requires a certain amount of power to hover in place, a battery with a higher C rating would be able to provide this power more efficiently than a lower-rated battery.
Matching C rating with other considerations
However, it is important to note that choosing a battery with too high of a C rating can also
have negative effects on performance. If the battery's discharge rate is too high for the motors or other components of the quadcopter, it can cause overheating and potentially damage these components.
