What was reported
Won’t hold settings and turns off randomly, especially on 24V; different supplies/cables made no difference. Tip is used.
Our take
Points to a firmware/settings-memory or power-input fault. A USB-C firmware reflash (Miniware or IronOS) often fixes this; also try a 12–20V supply. Otherwise spare handle/parts.
Repair hint
Reflash firmware over USB-C (Miniware or IronOS); test on a lower-voltage supply.

Are you looking to buy LUCKY DIP · Miniware TS101 Soldering Iron: Won’t Save Settings / Turns Off, Sold As-Is in Australia?
LUCKY DIP: faulty customer return, sold as-is. No returns, no warranty.
This listing is for one returned Miniware TS101 smart soldering iron (with a used B2 tip). It came back to us in July 2024 and has been on the returns shelf since.
How the price works: it starts at $40 and drops every night at midnight for 30 days, down to a $12 floor. The floor price only lasts 24 hours. If nobody grabs it, the price goes back up to $40 and the 30-day countdown starts again. Wait too long and you could miss it, or have to wait another month.
About the photos: these are photos of a new one, for reference only. They don’t show this unit or its condition. Want photos of the actual item? Email us at hello@phaserfpv.com.au and we’ll send some.
What was reported
- It won't hold its settings: changes don't save.
- It turns off randomly, especially on a 24V power source. The owner tried different power supplies and cables with the same result. Sometimes it would come back after unplugging and re-plugging.
- The tip is used.
Our take
- Not saving settings plus random shutdowns points to a firmware or settings-memory fault, or the power-input / USB-PD circuit.
- Could score: TS101 firmware can be reflashed over USB-C (official Miniware firmware or the open-source IronOS). A reflash often cures settings and shutdown bugs. Try a lower-voltage supply (12–20V) too.
- Worst case: a spare handle or parts. The tip fits TS100/TS101/Pinecil.
