What was reported
Binds, but stick inputs degrade and become jumpy/unusable; same on two different radios. The SPI ELRS receiver may be overheating.
Our take
Our first quick bench check missed it, but the fault is intermittent and heat-related, so assume the onboard SPI ELRS receiver is faulty. Try an ELRS reflash, or fit an external UART ELRS RX; else a new AIO or parts.
Repair hint
Reflash ELRS, or add an external UART ELRS receiver and disable the SPI RX.

Are you looking to buy LUCKY DIP · NewBeeDrone Hummingbird V3 1S Whoop (ELRS): Jumpy Sticks / SPI RX Fault, Sold As-Is in Australia?
LUCKY DIP: faulty customer return, sold as-is. No returns, no warranty.
This listing is for one returned NewBeeDrone Hummingbird V3 1.2" (31mm) 1S whoop, BNF ELRS, in white with a purple canopy. It came back to us in November 2024, looks brand new, and has been on the shelf since.
How the price works: it starts at $90 and drops every night at midnight for 30 days, down to a $35 floor. The floor price only lasts 24 hours. If nobody grabs it, the price goes back up to $90 and the 30-day countdown starts again. Wait too long and you could miss it, or have to wait another month.
What was reported
- It binds, but the stick inputs degrade and become jumpy and unusable.
- Tested with two different radios: same symptoms, so the radio isn't the cause.
- The built-in SPI ELRS receiver may be overheating.
Our take
- Our tech's first quick bench check found nothing obviously wrong, but the fault is intermittent and gets worse as the board warms up, so assume the onboard SPI ELRS receiver (on the AIO) is faulty.
- Could score: an ELRS firmware update/reflash (matching your radio's version) sometimes fixes SPI link issues. Or fit a tiny external ELRS receiver (UART) and disable the SPI one, which is a common fix for flaky SPI whoops.
- Worst case: a replacement Hummingbird V3 AIO, or use it for parts (frame, motors, camera, canopy).
