What was reported
Won’t power on from its own battery. Plug in USB power and it starts charging and can be turned on; it then works normally and stays on after the cable is removed.
Our take
Bench-tested by our tech: charges normally and couldn’t be faulted once running. Points to the internal battery protection, the power-on circuit or tired internal cells. Fully usable if you wake it with USB or a power bank.
Repair hint
Try fresh internal cells / check the battery protection and power-switch circuit.

Are you looking to buy LUCKY DIP · TBS Tango 2 Pro V3 (Crossfire 915): Needs USB to Power On, Sold As-Is [DG] in Australia?
LUCKY DIP: customer return, sold as-is. No returns, no warranty.
This listing is for one returned TBS Tango 2 Pro with folding gimbals (upgraded V3 PCB, built-in Crossfire 915MHz). It came back to us in August 2025 and has been sitting on the shelf since. It works, with one annoying quirk, so we're letting it go cheap rather than freighting it back to the supplier.
How the price works: it starts at $220 and drops every night at midnight for 30 days, down to a $110 floor. The floor price only lasts 24 hours. If nobody grabs it, the price goes back up to $220 and the 30-day countdown starts again. Wait too long and you could miss it, or have to wait another month.
About the photos: these are photos of a new one, for reference only. They don’t show this unit or its condition. Want photos of the actual item? Email us at hello@phaserfpv.com.au and we’ll send some.
The quirk
- From its own battery, it won't power on when you press the power button.
- Plug in USB power and it starts charging, and then it turns on and everything works.
- Once it's on, you can unplug the cable and it stays on, running normally on its battery.
So it's fully usable. Just turn it on with a USB cable or power bank before you head out, and keep a small power bank in the bag for the field.
Our take
Our tech bench-tested it: it charged normally and he couldn't fault it once it was running. A radio that only wakes up with charge power applied usually points to the internal battery protection or the power-on circuit (or tired internal cells), not the gimbals, Crossfire or screen.
- Could score: fitting fresh internal cells or a fix on the power-on circuit may cure it completely, leaving you with a full Tango 2 Pro well under retail.
- As-is: a working Tango 2 Pro with built-in Crossfire, as long as you're happy to wake it with USB.
