(3.5” cinewhoops with bullnose props should use larger 2004 size motors).


The motor is optimized for driving 3.5” Freestyle Tri-blade props on 4S battery voltage. On the thrust test stand and in the air, Chris Rosser found the Supernova 1605 drastically outperforms other 3.5” motor options (1404, 1804), producing massively more thrust and a much faster response without sacrificing efficiency. The Supernova 1605 broaches no compromises, 3.5” Freestyle has never had a powerplant like this.

For smooth, precise low-throttle control and breathtaking top-end power, AOS recommends applying throttle expo in Betaflight. Start with Throttle MID = 0 and Throttle EXPO = 0.20, adjusting EXPO to fine-tune your desired throttle response. Increase EXPO for greater precision at low throttle or reduce it for a sharper, more aggressive feel.
