Introducing Panchroma - A new range of colourful 3D Printing Filaments by Polymaker

First announced at Rapid TCT 2024, Panchroma is a new family of products from  Polymaker coming to Australia in 2024. Panchroma introduces new filament lines along with restructuring and renaming some existing products.

What is the Panchroma Range?

Panchroma (by Polymaker) is dedicated to offering the industries largest range of colours and surface finishes. This range combines a wide range of brand-new formulas along with existing popular product lines to cover over 150 colours across 15 surface finishes. This range will continue to grow, offering customers a wide range of options with the industry leading colour consistency that Polymaker have been known to deliver.

Please note that while many Panchroma filaments are PLA-based, this range isn't restricted to PLA. Panchroma Regular for instance is a new Polyester-based material.

About New Products

Panchroma REGULAR (BRAND NEW POLYESTER-BASED FORMULA)

A brand new Polyester-based material developed from the ground up, Panchroma Regular is a cost-effective material developed to improve printability (bridging, overhang), widen the printing temperature window and enable good flowability at high speeds up to 400mm/s. Panchroma Regular is NOT made with PLA and as a result it will not stick to PLA for multi-colour prints, but it can be printed with PLA settings.

Panchroma NEON (NEW PLA FORMULA EFFECT)

Panchroma™ Neon PLA offers an intense colour range with vibrancy and saturation to make your 3D printing projects stand out. Aside from offering beautiful neon colours in daylight conditions, this range also uses pigments that react under black light, delivering the perfect choice for cosplay costumers, party decorations and more, similar to Polymakers PolyLite Neon ABS.

Panchroma Celestial (NEW PLA FORMULA EFFECT)

Panchroma Celestial PLA is a new colour series from Polymaker. This range combines bright pastel colours with a pearlescent metallic powder to deliver an out of this world shimmering effect. The pearlescent powder chosen is up to 0.2mm in size, ensuring excellent compatibility with a standard 0.4mm nozzle.

Panchroma TRANSLUCENT (NEW PLA FORMULA EFFECT)

Panchroma Translucent PLA colours have a high translucency. Most of them have a Transmission Distance (TD) value of 7 or higher, making this range a great choice for high translucent applications such as HueForge filament painting, lithophanes or lampshades

Panchroma GRADIENT TRANSLUCENT (NEW PLA RAINBOW)

Panchroma Gradient Translucent PLA is a rainbow variant with a cycle range of approximately 159 grams. This rainbow filament offers versatility for a wide range of applications, whether it's users just looking for a unique and new rainbow colour cycle for printing general models, or for users who print thin walled models for light transmission.

Panchroma GRADIENT SATIN (NEW PLA RAINBOW)

Panchroma Gradient Satin PLA delivers a bright pastel gradient rainbow colour with a cycle range of approximately 133.5 grams. Users who love the satin effect of PolyTerra PLA+ (renamed to Panchroma Satin PLA) or PolyTerra PLA Pastel Rainbow (renamed to Panchroma Gradient Matte Pastel Rainbow) will love this new rainbow / effect filament.

Panchroma FAQ

Q: Are all products in the Panchroma range made from PLA?
A: No. Many Panchroma filaments are PLA-based, but the range is not restricted to PLA. Panchroma Regular for example is a new polyester-based material and there may be additional materials released in the future using other materials.

Q: When will all products in Australia be available under the new Panchroma packaging?
A: For sometime Polymaker are continuing to make both the new Panchroma version and previous PolyLite / PolyTerra version. As the underlying material is the same, our core focus is to maintain uninterrupted supply to our customers. When the new Panchroma versions of a material are available, we will order them instead of the previous PolyLite / PolyTerra variant but when a Panchroma variant may cause production or shipping delays, we will order the PolyLite / PolyTerra version. This approach means some product lines will transition faster than others and some colours will transition faster than others, but importantly this transition shouldn't affect product supply. There is currently no information regarding 3kg Panchroma, so we will continue to order 3kg PolyTerra PLA products while they are produced.

Q: Are all Panchroma filaments manufactured with cardboard spools?
A: All Panchroma filaments are manufactured with updated cardboard spool design with a sealed coated edge. Although we have many high volume customers running cardboard without issue in the AMS, this edge can benefit users who may have trouble printing with AMS. Please note that other Polymaker spools (1kg / 750g) will be transitioning to this new design as well.

Q: Are all Polymakers PLA filaments moving to the Panchroma range?
A: No. The PLA-based materials joining the Panchroma range are materials that offer a specific aesthetic effect (matte, satin, glitter, glow-in-the-dark). For the time being regular PolyLite PLA will stay under the PolyLite range. Polymakers functional PLA formulas such as PolyLite PLA+ Pro, PolySonic PLA, PolySonic PLA+ Pro, PolyMax PLA, PolyLite CosPLA, PolyLite LW-PLA, PolyLite PLA-CF will continue to stay under their respective product ranges.
