What was reported
Brand new; only 3 of 4 ESCs ever detected, so one motor never spun. Swapping motors showed all 4 motors work; the fault stays with the ESC channel. Stock firmware/CLI re-flash didn’t fix it.
Our take
One dead channel on the AIO’s 4-in-1 ESC. The owner soldered the motor leads directly to the board while diagnosing it (clean job, passed the smoke stopper). Otherwise looks new. A replacement NanoScout AIO should bring it back.
Repair hint
Replace the AIO; stay on stock EMAX firmware (BF 4.4.3 / Bluejay) + EMAX CLI.

Are you looking to buy LUCKY DIP · EMAX TinyHawk NanoScout BNF (ELRS): 1 ESC Channel Dead, Sold As-Is [DG] in Australia?
LUCKY DIP: faulty customer return, sold as-is. No returns, no warranty.
This listing is for one returned EMAX TinyHawk NanoScout BNF (ELRS). It came back to us in March 2025, looks brand new, and has been sitting on the returns shelf since. We could pay to freight it back to the overseas supplier, but we'd rather it went to someone handy with a soldering iron.
How the price works: it starts at $90 and drops every night at midnight for 30 days, down to a $30 floor. The floor price only lasts 24 hours. If nobody grabs it, the price goes back up to $90 and the 30-day countdown starts again. Wait too long and you could miss it, or have to wait another month.
About the photos: the stock photos are of a new one, for reference only. They don’t show this unit or its condition. The other photos show the actual returned unit. Want more photos of it? Email us at hello@phaserfpv.com.au and we’ll send some.
What was reported
- Brand new. In the ESC configurator only 3 of the 4 ESCs were ever detected, so that motor never spun.
- Swapping the motor plugs around showed all 4 motors work. The fault follows the ESC channel, not the motor.
- The receiver link also threw "critical" errors at first. Re-flashing the stock EMAX firmware and CLI dump fixed the video, but not the dead ESC channel.
Our take
One dead channel on the AIO's 4-in-1 ESC. While diagnosing, the owner soldered the motor leads directly to the board. Our tech said it was a clean job, and it passed a smoke-stopper test. Apart from that it looks new, still in its carry case with the battery and spare props.
- Could score: a replacement NanoScout AIO brings it straight back to life, with the motors, frame, camera and canopy all good.
- Worst case: a tidy parts whoop: 4 working motors, frame, ducts, camera and canopy.
Specs (when working)
- EMAX TinyHawk NanoScout BNF
- FC target: EMAX_TINYHAWKF4SX1280 (Betaflight 4.4.3 stock, Bluejay ESC)
- Built-in ELRS 2.4GHz receiver · analog video
- Tip from our tech: stay on the stock EMAX firmware and CLI. Newer Betaflight causes ESC and receiver problems on this model.
