What was reported
Very short range (near-failsafe at ~80–100m LOS at 2W) and unreliable output: on 2W it sometimes only output 25mW/500mW until power-cycled. TBS support reviewed it and approved an exchange.
Our take
Assume the RF/power-amp side is faulty. Still links at short range, so it’s fine for bench/sim/close range; a TBS Agent reflash is worth a try. Otherwise parts.
Repair hint
Reflash via TBS Agent and verify output power; else use for bench/sim.

Are you looking to buy LUCKY DIP · TBS Crossfire TX Module w/ Bluetooth (915MHz): Poor Range / Low Power, Sold As-Is in Australia?
LUCKY DIP: faulty customer return, sold as-is. No returns, no warranty.
This listing is for one returned TBS Crossfire TX full-size module with Bluetooth (915MHz), the 2W JR-bay Crossfire transmitter. It came back to us in December 2023 and has been on the shelf since.
How the price works: it starts at $120 and drops every night at midnight for 30 days, down to a $40 floor. The floor price only lasts 24 hours. If nobody grabs it, the price goes back up to $120 and the 30-day countdown starts again. Wait too long and you could miss it, or have to wait another month.
About the photos: these are photos of a new one, for reference only. They don’t show this unit or its condition. Want photos of the actual item? Email us at hello@phaserfpv.com.au and we’ll send some.
What was reported
- Very short range: two 5" quads nearly failsafed at about 80–100m line-of-sight, even with the module set to 2W. The owner's other radio got further on every test.
- Output power unreliable: with the power switch on 2W it would sometimes only put out 25mW (or 500mW) until it was power-cycled a few times.
- The owner ran TBS's poor-range troubleshooting and sent DVR. TBS support reviewed the unit and approved an exchange, so the fault was acknowledged.
Our take
- Assume the RF/power-amplifier side is faulty: it doesn't reliably reach the power it's set to, so the range is poor.
- Could score: it still links and works at short range, so it's fine as a bench, sim or close-range module. A firmware reflash via TBS Agent is worth a try.
- Worst case: a parts unit (case, Bluetooth, screen, JR-bay pins).
Specs (when working)

- OLED screen · fits JR-bay radios (e.g. RadioMaster Boxer/TX16S)
