What was reported

Box marked “DOA FC”. No other notes survived.

Our take

Not bench-tested by us. Try USB and a DFU reflash in Betaflight first; if there’s no USB connection at all it’s likely hardware (regulator/MCU) and a parts/test board.

Repair hint

Try a DFU-mode reflash in Betaflight before writing it off.

Product details

Are you looking to buy LUCKY DIP · TBS Lucid FC Freestyle: DOA Return, Sold As-Is in Australia?

LUCKY DIP: faulty customer return, sold as-is. No returns, no warranty.

This listing is for one returned TBS Lucid FC Freestyle flight controller. It came back to us marked DOA and has been sitting on the returns shelf since. Rather than freight it back to the supplier, we're letting it go cheap.

How the price works: it starts at $22 and drops every night at midnight for 30 days, down to a $6 floor. The floor price only lasts 24 hours. If nobody grabs it, the price goes back up to $22 and the 30-day countdown starts again. Wait too long and you could miss it, or have to wait another month.

About the photos: these are photos of a new one, for reference only. They don’t show this unit or its condition. Want photos of the actual item? Email us at hello@phaserfpv.com.au and we’ll send some.

What was reported

Box marked "DOA FC". No other notes survived, so the exact symptom isn't known.

Our take

  • We haven't bench-tested it. Plug it into USB and try Betaflight first: a DFU reflash brings back a surprising number of "dead" FCs that are really just bad firmware.
  • If it shows no USB connection at all, it's likely a hardware fault (regulator or MCU). It's then a parts or test board.

Specs (when working)

  • TBS Lucid FC (freestyle version), Betaflight flight controller

Chips on the board (for parts hunters)

  • MCU: Artery AT32F435RMT7 (288MHz)
  • IMU / gyro: TDK InvenSense ICM-42688-P
  • OSD: AT7456E · 8MB blackbox

Chips are as listed by the manufacturer for this model, not checked on this exact unit. They make it a handy donor for repairs.
