Looks great but has kink at end of roll

This filament looks damn good.

However, there seems to be a kink at the very end of the roll. Every time I finished a roll, it would get stuck in my Bambulab AMS.

Looks lovely but not had any luck

I have ender 3 and flash forge guider iis. I have not been able to print anything yet that has any strength. There is a lot of oozing always. Tried all sorts of print settings. I normally use esun which has no problems.

Great company

Fantastic a quick service. And so happy we can still get filament in lock down. Pick up service is great

Stringy

This was a trial purchase. When printing more than a single item there is quite a bit of stringing. Yes, lower temperature often fixes that - other PLA filaments work perfectly with exactly the same settings.

Sunlu Silk PLA Copper

Sunlu silk prints with perfect finish on vertical sides and polishes well with acrylic polish on non vertical sides. Very impressed.

Phaser is Excellent! Sunlu is so so

Bought the bronze and silver filament a while ago. All in all the PLA is good stuff. Most prints work well, however I do have some gripes with the Sunlu filament.

1. Bed adheason can sometimes be a pain, not sure why but it is only with this filament. Other PLA like eSUN work perfect, but I always have to use gluestick with Sunlu...

2. Sunlu's filament diameter seems to vary. This filament seems to clog much easier than any other filament I own. Looking into why, I found that the PLA creates a lot of grinded dust around the entrace to the extruder (the part that controls the feed rate) my best guess is that the filament dimaeter is slightly too large for the extrusion entrance. This dust (if not cleaned after a day of running) will almost always cause some kind of jam on the z-axis rod (I'm using an ender 3 v2).

Really all I can say is that this is a good buy, it looks great and works well once you work out the kinks, and for the price, you can't beat it. Just be mindful if you do long prints to keep an eye on you extruders and nozzle blockings.

Filament Dryer and Dry Box spool holder combo for 3D Printing.

This is for Filament for 3D printing. One problem with our filament is they are plastics that are hygroscopic. IE they like water and readily absord water even from the air. When this happens things change. with PLA it becomes brittle and breaks easily and with most you get nasty prints. What is happening is you are FLASHING the water in the plastic to steam in your very very hot hot end that is far far above waters boiling temp. The water flashes into steam bursting out of the plastic ruining the smooth finish if your models somtimes so bad making it hard to even print with. depends on the plastic how it was handled where you live etc..the only way to get rid of the water is to DRIVE It out with heat. that is what this is for. it has a heater in the bottom and can run for up to 24hrs at a shot. you put the roll in it and turn it on. come back hours half a day later etc.. and then you can run a PTFE tube from the box directly to your printer so it works as a dryer and a dry box feed for your printer (handle for particular nasty water filaments like nylon)It does not get too hot. highest I got inside was 38c near the middle. it leaks heat to the environment faster than it can make it. it also needs a fan. to circulate the air inside otherwise if they tried to get hotter the bottom migth get too hot while the top did not get hot enough. a fan would fix this.I also suggest some insulation for it. silver bubble wrap type stuff would probably work well with this.good for PLA and PETG. marginal for Nylon. not sure if it will get hot enough to e effective for nylon.

Beautiful, but challenging to use

I love the color and the finish but this has been the most frustrating filament to print with. I've used a dozen other filaments from different companies and they're all far more forgiving. SUNLU's Silk Copper PLA prints fairly well on my Anycubic Mega X at 220 degrees, 60 degree bed, 40 mm/s or less, and with models that minimize retractions. Even starting with a temp tower, I've lost most of the roll to learning what doesn't work. I had the same result with their Silk BlackGrey PLA and returned it. By contrast, CC3D's Silk Black prints as easily any standard PLA.

Great Silk and shiney prints

Great silk filament, this is the first time I'm using Sunlu brand which was recommended by my FB group. I'm happy with the print outcome. Print came so good without much tuning. The adhesion of this was great as well.

Great look, prints wonderfully

This filament looks terrific & prints perfectly so far. I don't suspect that I'll have any issues, as I'm half a spool down & everything has printed well at 200 / 60 / 0.4mm. Great product, good price.

Looks good, but makes fragile parts.

This stuff looks good. Adheres to bed ok, but the final pieces break easily due to awful adhesion between layers. I've tried temperatures throughout the recommended range and this doesn't change. Weak, weak, stuff.

Filament dryer - great addition to my 3d printer

My 3D printer is n the basement, and basements have moisture problems. I did get a new dehumidifier at the same time as I got my printer and it helps. But for the most part filament prints best when dry. I saw a youtube video on this dryer and decided to give it a try.Now I could try drying my filament in the oven, but that never really appealed to me. I would need to dry it right before using it otherwise it sort of defeats the purpose.Enter the filament dryer. Dries the filament while you print. So you know your filament is going to be in the best possible condition while printing. I have a variety of filaments from a variety of manufacturers and so far this will hold every single spool of filament I have. My printer setup is a little crowded and it took a bit to get this located in a good position for printing. But once I got things setup it has been great. The quality of my prints has improved. I've had fewer failed prints. It just all around makes the whole printing process better. Excellent addition to my printer.

Great PLA!

This was my first PLA filament on my Ender 3 Pro. It fed well and printed many items. I am writing this review now because I am re-buying the same spool. Now my question is... what color do I go for now. The silk blackgrey is just so good as a metal prototype.

Great Gold Color!

Best looking gold color I have found! Looks great and is not that brown gold color I got on the other two brands I tried

Really nice sheen, and not as hard to get to work as some other filaments I’ve tried.

Good layer adhesion. The silky ness is pretty. I had some elephants foot problems but that was on the printers side not on the filament side. The prints came out super nice though. I couldn’t get the sill to stick to my glass bed though but that’s ok. The black is nice. Not I am gonna try some more sunlu filament for now.

Simple and easy to use

This filament dryer is pretty pricey for only holding one spool of filament. However, it is simple and easy to use, so it still gets 4 stars in my book. It would probably get 5 stars if the price were quite a bit lower.

Lots of stringing and extrusion problems.

Tried bumping up temperature to 210C, but having lots of stringing and sometimes there is not enough extrusion.

Upgraded Dryer Box of 3D Printer Filament

I am so ecstatic that I was able to review one of these filament dryers. I live in a very humid area and printing for more than a few hours wreaks havoc on my filament. Without some sort of containment system it's pretty dooming. With the filament dryer, I can print smooth prints like never before. It also keeps the filament warms so there is no breakage. Fantastic product! Highly recommend!

Good Price, Consistent Printing, Good Performance.

I may have found my go to Silk Silver PLA filament for my Ender 3 Pro w/ glass bed. I had good adhesion to the bed and consistent printing. Printing @ 210 and bed @ 65. Very happy with this filament.

50/50

Sometimes this filament prints very well, sometimes it just clogs up randomly, im not as confident in letting this filament do a marathon print as much as my Hatchbox stuff.

Wish it was better quality

This is a great dryer box, but I have deducted a star because it feels so incredibly cheap and the controls are a pain. Seriously, just add more buttons so I don't have to hold two buttons forever to get it to function. Add a hard on-off switch. Really any extra buttons will help. Also wish the hole that the filament came out of was smoother.
